Our Story
Our founders began working together at a national law firm, practicing law in areas that are
legislation-heavy and developing a deep understanding of how legal compliance works.
We realized that by using technology to provide ready access to HR compliance information,
we could make it much easier for any employer to comply with the law.
We want to empower employers – providing the legal information they need
to ensure day-to-day HR compliance.

Lesha Van Der Bij
Chief Executive Officer &
Co-Founder
Lesha spent many years of her legal career reviewing legislation and creating
easy-to-understand summaries for individual clients, while always dreaming of a tool that provided this information with the click of a button. She now works on making this dream a reality – developing the product road map and general strategy for Compliance Works.
Gayle Wadden
Chief Legal Officer &
Co-Founder
Gayle has helped many businesses react to
easily-avoidable legal problems that arose because they did not understand their obligations. She now ensures that businesses have the legal information they need to be proactive – overseeing Compliance Works’ legal content, and developing partnerships with HR professional and industry associations.

Chief Technology Officer
Mark has spent the last 25 years building online applications for many of North America’s most recognizable brands. With a diverse background in technology, design and UX, he’s helping to bring Compliance Works to life with a focus on simple, elegant solutions for busy HR professionals.
